In what is fast becoming a brilliant summer and pre-season for Dial Square Football Club, today things just got even better with yet another high profile signing, for Simon Martin’s new side.
We’d like to give a very, very warm welcome to Jim Ward.
The vastly experienced centre-half is a massive signing for us as a club and, we hope he’ll be able to push us forward for our quest for success, trophies and promotion this season.
WARDY IS GOING TO BE PIVOTAL
The boss had glowing praise for his new defender. “Jim is an experienced centre half, born leader and winner and, is a great asset to the team.
He’s played and captained at Frimley Green and more recently, Egham Town, last season. Jim's experience will be pivotal for us at Dial Square”.
The boss added, “since his addition straight into the squad, he’s fitted in as a top bloke on and off the pitch and added to the team spirit, which is great.
His attitude and leadership will be massive moving forward in both the league and all the cups.
Jim is a lad I've always liked from afar and, is a no-nonsense Centre Back with great organisation and a calm head.
I'm looking forward to working with him this season and hopefully many more”!
WHY DIAL SQUARE?
Our new man had this to say about why he chose Dial Square as his next club;
“I chose to join The Dial as I haven’t really enjoyed football over the last two seasons, which is down to COVID.
Being that I’m in the latter of my playing days, I wanted to enjoy it again and to do it with a bunch of top lads.
I had heard a lot of good things about Simon through others, but another massive reason why I joined was down to Richard Keown”.
Richard is actually our next guest on The Dialcast, so be sure not to miss this episode. Keown is an unbelievable character and an absolutely superb coach. The club owe a massive deal of thanks to him for coming on board and we wish to see him here for a long time yet!
Wardy finished by saying “my time with Keown at Frimley was one of my better times and I personally respect him so much as a coach.
I hope to get The Dial where they belong and I’m looking forward to a successful season ahead”.
We echo those words Wardy and, we can’t wait to see you on the pitch for us next season.
