A test of character for leaders

Dial travel to The Hybrid Fitness Stadium on Saturday (19 Oct) to play Frenches Athletic in the Surrey Premier County Football League. 3pm k.o.

The French, who ground-share with Isthmian Football League side Merstham, and competing in their second season at step 7 after finishing runners-up to Banstead Rovers in the Surrey South Eastern Combination Intermediate Division One.

Despite winning the county cup twice in the past three seasons, The French haven't yet been able to replicate the same form in the league, which has been compounded by scoring just two goals in their past three outings.

Meanwhile, Dial are undefeated in their previous seven matches, including a 3-2 win over Hersham in midweek. And a win against The French this weekend could extend Steve Brown side's margin at the top of the leaderboard to eight points if CB Hounslow & Abbots and Worcester Park only manage a draw at Green Lane.

However, Dial will again be travelling light, with Dylan Averiss, Adam Bicknell, Charlie Marshall and Noel Fortune all unavailable, in addition to Arnie Linturn and Sam McDermaid, who have been sidelines for several weeks.

Speaking to DialSquareFC.com, boss Brown said: "I'm under no illusion that it will be a difficult game against Frenches, especially with so many players unavailable. But I have faith with the squad of players we have, who I know will give 100% to the cause."

For supporters and football enthusiasts travelling to The Hybrid Fitness Stadium (a.k.a. Moatside), a travel guide is available here. Admission charges apply for this fixture.
