Brown: Clinical not cynical

Dial will be looking to get back to winning ways at home against Hersham this evening (16 Oct).

After a goalless draw away to Addlestone at the weekend, Dial boss Steve Brown has thrown down the gauntlet for.his players to be more potent in front of goal after they passed up over a dozen opportunities against The Stones.

Brown is expected to field an unchanged lineup for the visit of The Robins, with full-back Louie Rogers likely to return to the 16-man squad squad. The only absentees are Sam McDermaid, Arnie Linturn, Aiden Doran and Matt Hayes, who is out for the rest of the season due to an ACL injury.

Tonight's visitors have been struggling at the wrong end of the table since August, with six defeats (incl. one HWO) in their opening seven league fixtures. Their only points have came courtesy of a 2-1 away win at Addlestone.

Speaking to DialSquareFC.com ahead of the fixture, Brown said: "It's always good to be back on home soil. Hopefully, the pitch size and playing surface will bring about a better return.

'I'm expecting Hersham to set up and approach the game in a similar way to Addlestone. However, that shouldn't change our game plsn.

"I'm looking for the players to put Saturday's goalless draw behind them and to approach the match with more vigor and conviction in front of goal. If we create good goalscirung opportunities, we must convert then," he added.
