Dial striker Harry Rice added to his honours after receiving the Stan Collins Trophy following his goalscoring prowess during the 2023/24 season.
The sharpshooter was presented with the coveted golden-boot trophy by Surrey County Intermediate League (Western) President, Barrie Hogan, during the League's annual general meeting at Woking Park (Westfield) on 19 June 2024.
Rice notched an astonishing 41 goals in 26 league games (49 in 33 appearances, incl. cup games), which culminated in breaking the previous Surrey County Intermediate League (Western) Premier Division record by seven goals.
The striker’s eye for goal during Dial's championship winning-season equated to a staggering 1.58 (1.576) league goals per game; one of the highest returns at any level of English (men’s) football.
Speaking to DialSquareFC.com after receiving the award, Rice said: "Scoring a goal, no matter at what level, will always be the best feeling in the world. And to have that feeling 49 times last season was surreal.
"I'm slightly disappointed to finish the season just one-goal short of a half-century, but that’s just me being my biggest critic and always hungry for more," he added.
Rice recalls many standout moments during an extraordinary league and league cup campaign, which included scoring his 35th league goal against Knaphill Athletic to beat the previous record. However, the striker capped the sentiment of it perfectly by saying: "It’s not just my goals, it's a team game and the silverware we all worked towards and won. That's what's important."
Rice is hoping that his goalscoring attributes continue to serve Dial well next season in the club's bid for a fourth consecutive promotion.
