Dial Square Football Club Ltd are extremely delighted to announce that they have a new home.
After signing the agreement earlier last week, we can confirm that from the start of the 2022/23 season, we shall now be playing our home matches at Alwyns Lane, home of Chertsey Town FC.
This truly exciting move gives us the foundation we need to reach Step 6 football and keeps us firmly on our course with our project.
The aim is simple, to make sure we reach semi-professional football as soon as possible and now that we have this superb ground share in place, we can continue to do so. The road won't be easy, but with our continued fan involvement and support, it will certainly be achievable.
Alwyns Lane has a capacity of 2,500 and has gone through many improvements over the last few years. The bar and pitch surface in particular are superb, which will delight all our fans and players alike.
Speaking for the fans, DSFCE Chairman Andreas Charalambous said "Making the move to Chertsey Town is both an exciting and logical next step for the club and its owners.
As we look to move up the pyramid - and with the long-term aim of playing at our own purpose-built stadium - the club needs to ensure that it’s based at an appropriate facility. With our recent proud achievement of promotion, we must ensure that everything else about the club is upgraded with it.
This move to Chertsey Town is one such necessary upgrade - and I am sure it will serve us very well. I’m looking forward to seeing fellow club's owners join us on match days at our new home, to cheer on the team as they do the business on the fantastic grass pitch".
For fans still eager to know when we will be moving even closer and deeper into London, they should know that work has already started behind the scenes to source potential grounds and venues, in North and South London.
Business Manager, Tom Nash has been doing a lot of ground hunting and has had meetings with various councils, to see where we could potentially move to, when the situation arises.
The move to Alwyns Lane is seen by the club to be the last such move, until we relocate to the area in London that we decide to settle in.
Once in this area and ground sharing with another club, we will then look at developing plans for building our own stadium.
The club would like to thank all the staff at Chertsey Town and in particular, Mark Turner and Chris Gay, for their hard work and kindness, in allowing this move to happen. We look forward to a prosperous and enjoyable time whilst working with you.
We'd also like to thank former Abbey Rangers Chairman, Denis Healy and all the staff at Abbey Rangers FC, who have been great landlords. We've thoroughly enjoyed our working relationship with you.
We hope all our fans are looking forward to next season and can lend their support in many ways, to help keep us growing.
