Dial are back in action on Saturday (30 November) when they travel to Bagshot in the second round of the Surrey FA Saturday Intermediate Cup. 1:30pm k.o.
Buoyed by their 5-1 win (friendly) over Wessex League side Ash United in midweek, Steve Brown will be hoping his side's goalscoring spree will continue against The Baggies in the county cup.
Dial reached this stage of the competition after registering an emphatic 7-0 win over Westminster Casuals - the last side they lost to in the county cup back in November 2022 - while Bagshot booked their spot after a 4-3 away win over Tongham.
Despite having already beaten The Baggies 6-1 in the league three weeks ago, Brown is not one to get complacent. He acknowledges that the psychological dynamics of cup fixtures often throw a curve ball; one that Dial do not want to be on the wrong end of.
Dial's plight has not been helped though with Jordan Carter and Adam Bicknell both injured, Adam Aziz cup-tied, and Noel Fortune and Sam McDermaid unavailable. However, it could pave the way for Daniel Band to make his competitive debut along with Matt Bunyan to help marshall the backline.
Speaking to DialSquareFC.com on Thursday, Brown said: "League form goes out of the window in the cup. Camberley's pitch has a big slope and doesn't make it easy pitch to get the ball down and play football, so we will need to be resolute in defence and clear our lines when playing uphill.
"The county cup is a competition we want to do well in, but it's down to the players to step-up and do what it takes to get a result. One thing is for sure, Bagshot will not make it easy for us, so we need to have the right mindset from the get-go," added Brown.
For supporters and football enthusiasts travelling to Krooner Park (home of Camberley Town) for the first time, a travel guide is available here. Admission charges apply for this ccup fixture.
