Dial are back on the road this evening (16 April) when they travel to The Hybrid Fitness Stadium to play Frenches Athletic. 7:45pm.
Following Saturday's indifferent performance against Worcester Park, boss Steve Brown knows that his side and ill-afford any more slip-ups if they are to stand a chance of winning the league title and, more importantly, leapfrog AFC Walcountians in the Surrey Premier County Football League to secure promotion at the first attempt.
Since beating The French 5-1 at Alwyns Lane five-and-a-half weeks ago, the Redhill based club have had a mixed bag of results, winning two, drawing three and losing two of their last seven matches to reside tenth in the table.
They have also pulled up the drawbridge since 5 April, conceding just one-goal in their past three games after suffering a surprise 7-2 home defeat against basement club Hersham.
Meanwhile, Brown is pleased to welcome back captain Will Neville and Matt Bunyan; both of whom are expected to come straight into the starting XI as Dial look to shore up the backline. Dylan Averiss has also been drafted into the squad, although there is still no return for talisman Jordan Carter, who is recovering from a hamstring strain.
Speaking to DialSquareFC.com on Tuesday (15 April), Brown said: "There is no room for complacency. Nothing other than three points [against Frenches Athletic] will be acceptable. Unlike [against Worcester Park] on Saturday, we need to be at it from the start.
"I'm hoping that the pitch at Merstham will be much better than Worcester Park's playing surface, which was awful. And while that doesn't negate our poor performance at the weekend, a decent pitch will suit our style of play.
"Moments and small margins can change football matches, so it's important that we create and take our chances to get our noses in front, and stay in front. We need to show more quality and resilience on and off the ball to secure the points. They won't be served on a plate," he added.
