Dial travel to Academy to play Staines & Lammas

Dial continue their pre-season campaign today (20 July), this time against newly-promoted Combined Counties Football League Division One (step 6) side Staines & Lammas (Middlesex) at Springwest Academy. 2pm k.o.

With the commencement of the 2024/25 Surrey Premier County Football League season just over four-and-a-half weeks away, Dial boss Steve Brown is keen to build on the squad's fine-showing (W 2-1) against Knaphill in midweek as players stake a claim for a shirt.

Meanwhile, Lammas rejoined the National League System (steps 1-6) this coming season after a six-year hiatus. The Laleham village based club, which ground-share with Abbey Rangers to to compete at step 6, were eligible for promotion from the Surrey Premier County Football League after finishing third (behind champions Wimbledon Casuals and Worcester Park) in last season's campaign.

It will be Dial's sixth pre-season friendly, having already pit their wits against Fleet Town, Liphook United, Burnham, Frimley Green and Knaphill since 29 June.

Speaking to DialSquareFC.com ahead of the fixture, Brown said:"Staines & Lammas are a good footballing outfit, and I'm sure they will have recruited well over the summer ahead of their return to the Combined Counties [Football] League.

"For us, it will be another good test against a side in the ascendancy. Things have really started to come together over the past week or so. I thought we took a big step forward against Knaphill on Tuesday (16 July), and Bunners [Matt Bunyan) and I are hoping the players will continue to embrace the same intensity and style of play that we're looking to implement," he added.

The match will be played at Springwest Academy's 3G facility off Browells Lane in Feltham
Ample parking is available onsite. The nearest rail station to the venue is Feltham, which is on the South Western Railway. You can plan your journey here. The station is 0.7 miles from the venue (see route).
