Dial host Royalists at Royal Holloway Sports Centre

** Change of venue **

Dial officially kick-off the New Year today (4 January) with a home fixture against AFC Royal Holloway in the Surrey Premier County Football League. 11:30am k.o.

Due to the uncertainty of whether the pitch at Alwyns Lane would thaw in time, the match was switched to Royal Holloway Sports Centre (3G pitch) last night to ensure the match wouldn't fall foul of the weather.

It will be the second time in two weeks that Dial will travel to The Sports Centre, after Steve Brown's side overcame The Royalists 4-0 before Christmas. Goals from George Lawrence, Harry Rice, Balai Dembele, and an own goal from Paul Gilmour, enabled Dial to return to the top of the table going into the festive break.

Despite a personnel shortage for the last two outings, Brown has been dealt a different headache this weekend by having to whittle down a squad of 19 to 16.

Midfielder Adam Aziz and winger Jordan Carter are expected to come straight into the squad after missing out against AFC Royal Holloway last time. Experienced shot-stopper Andy Rider is also expected to return to the fold after a two-match absence, with defender James Vass another who back in contention.

Speaking to DialSquareFC.com ahead of the match, Brown said: "We should have nearly everyone back available, which is a nice problem to have.

"When we last played [AFC] Royal Holloway, we ran out fairly comfortable winners. However. they do have players that can hurt us, so we need to make sure that we're on the front-foot from the get-go and have the right attitude to get the new year off to a positive start.

"The players put in a good shift and looked sharp at training on Thursday, which was good to see. Hopefully they can replicate that in the match," he added.

For supporters and football enthusiasts travelling to Royal Holloway Sports Centre (a.k.a. Nobles Fields), a travel guide is available here. Admission charges do not apply for this fixture due to the change of venue. Parking restrictions are in force.
